Results: Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped find a record number of species on our December 15 count. Details here: 2012 Christmas Bird Count Report 2012 Christmas Bird Count Summary Spreadsheet Announcement: Bridgerland Audubon Society will host its 57th Christmas Bird Count on Saturday, December 15, 2012. Everyone is also invited to the potluck dinner afterward at the Cache Valley Unitarian Universalists building (596 East 900 North, Logan) to tally the results, beginning at 6:00 p.m. that evening. (BYOB and a dish to share. We'll supply a cold cut sandwich.) Join 60 plus other folks--some great birders, some just enjoying a winter's day watching wildlife--as we add to the most extensive database of citizen science in the world. Data from the CBC is used for a wide variety of research, including substantiating the effects of global weirding. But most of us do it because it's fun to be out with friends, old and new, observing nature and marveling at how such tiny creatures survive quite handily in sub-freezing weather. The traditional $5 fee for the CBC has been waived by National Audubon Society, but you're free to make a donation to BAS, POB 3501, Logan, UT 84323-3501, to offset some of the costs we incur locally.
