Late October is a time of year when many of the later migrant birds are arriving in Cache Valley, especially the birds of big water. Join us as we seek out some of these species on the reservoirs and lakes of Cache County, including Hyrum Reservoir, Cutler Reservoir, and perhaps the Logan Sewage Lagoons. We’ll be looking for new arrivals of the season such as Common Loons and Red-breasted Mergansers, and also trying to find a local rarity such as a Pacific Loon, a scoter, or a Red Phalarope. Bring a scope if you have one. All skill levels are welcome. Meet at 8:00 AM at the parking lot between Caffe Ibis and the Logan Fire Station (50 East 150 North). We’ll plan to be back in the mid-afternoon, but we can arrange an earlier drop off if requested.
Monday, April 14: Explore where the Logan River meets Cutler Marsh
Meet at 5:30 pm at the Pacificorp boat launch on Valley View Highway (200 North in Logan) just west of milepost 106 (1/2 mile west of Public Shooting Range; 4.7 mi west of Main St.). Although this is flat water, there are tight turns and we will paddle against the current on the return trip.
