Nature journaling is the practice of observing and documenting the natural world using a combination of notes, sketches, questions, and reflections. While drawing can be part of the process, it doesn’t have to be art-focused, writing, simple diagrams, and curiosity-driven observations are just as valuable.
In honor of Arbor Day, this session will primarily focus on native trees, learning to notice their unique features, patterns, and roles in the ecosystem. Whether you’re brand new or have some experience, you’re encouraged to join, explore, and connect with nature with us!
Event leaders: Meg Kast (801-864-9425), and Dawn Holzer.
This trip is suitable for both novice and experienced birders.
Participation requires walking and observing within the park on asphalt trails and off-trail in grass, gravel, mulch and soil covered surfaces. You may bring folding chairs or use rock structures and benches available within the park.
Registration Required: RSVP and field trip waiver below required before 9 pm Friday, April 24, 2026.
