What is a Bioblitz?
“During a bioblitz, participants strive to gather evidence of as many living species as possible found in a particular place over a short period of time. Many people are encouraged to observe combining the efforts of both experts and novices to provide a ‘snapshot’ of the biodiversity of the area being studied. –more–“

As birders, we are all familiar with eBird from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
However, with a bioblitz, we are looking for more than birds. Records are submitted using iNaturalist.org. Often we define the bioblitz recording location with iNaturalist and request that all records be submitted marked for that location. After the specific event, we encourage you, our participatory science friends, to submit you records for these locations through iNaturalist. Recordings are best documented with an accompanying photograph.
“You can submit an observation to iNaturalist using either their mobile app or website by providing a photo or sound, the location, date, and species identification.”
