Trip report:
August 4, 2026, eleven people toured all the hidden pockets of Denzil Stewart Nature Park. More birds were seen than expected at this time of year, a total of 25 species in all . Cooler temperatures that morning in the 50’s may have contributed to our success.

Highlights included a Brewer’s Sparrow, Western Tanager and several Bullock’s Orioles in various plumages. We also saw 2 species of hummingbirds foraging over the water and juvenile Lazuli Buntings and Spotted Towhees.
